I am very excited to be heading out to Turin early tomorrow, to begin another international media program http://www.adaptingforcinema.com/in which I’ll be taking my first role as Producer to adapt and develop a prominent British book for the screens.

We – me, a very talented visual artist Barbara Bakos and one writer - have until the final pitching session in London, 23rd-25th April.

It’s all the more exciting as the books involved have been optioned for a year, so it’s a fully live project to be learning with. Updates on the project in detail will follow in the coming months…

A huge thanks also to Creative Skillset for awarding me an international scholarship for this amazing opportunity.

I had the wobbly-knee’d pleasure* to be invited to talk about my experiences in the animation industry thus far, to a mixture of school leavers and others who were intending on following a creative path through University.

I was glad of the chance to talk a little about what I thought was the very narrow choices that were presented to me at that age, seemingly only fine art/graphic design/illustration, no notions of animation and film ever entertained…

Here’s a short post-promotional clip of the night, and due to my lack of confidence at public speaking, I’m glad to not actually feature in it! They probably tried to get a bit and found none usable. However I was glad of the cheese and pineapple cocktail stick classics available in the green room.
